Green.Tech04-08 09:29 PMSo now this thread has turned into a sob story of how a handful of misused EB1 visas are bad for the whole group (i am a screwed up low level EB3, i am not in competing with EB1's or 2 or 4's for that matter) ...we just need some bad guys to pin the blame on. We are loosing sight of the big picture here. We can either complain or cry or do nothing, to each his/her own. write a letter to the authorities. they will take 5 years to investigate and 10 more visas will be available to for redistribution to Eb2 from EB1, meanwhile we will create a new thread everymonth and complain how messed up the system is and how screwed up we are...:p.

...reminds me of a quote from Maya Angelou:
"If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude. Don't complain."

Lets all get together and work for visa recapture, it is free of country and category caps, everyone will benefit.

I completely agree. Tell me how are we acting differently than the Americans blaming the foreigners for bad economy? Look at the bigger picture before pointing fingers at each other. BTW, I am not an EB-1; I am just an EB-3 :)

vjkypally09-02 09:00 AMThere are about 37 EB2-India approvals and not a single EB2-China from yesterday's data. Looks like there are not many EB2-China before 2005. This spill over is definitely good for India.

Be it EB2 India or EB3 India or EB2 China or any other category. All of us are suffering. Some of us more than others.

But... as much as you like it their will not be a EB3-I only bill or admin fix.

Only thing which will fix the issue is EB reforms (more visa, elimination of country limits, STEM expemtions etc) which IV is fighting for.

IV is not your partent. All of us combined make IV. If you are affected more then show by acting accordingly.
Lobby now, meet your representatives now so that come March next year when CIR may be discussed our provisions are not only included but also have a solid backing.
If we do not do our share or work now, we will be disappointed when CIR or any other immi bill come up.

Show your commitment by contributing to IV. Meet law makers.

dummgelauft04-01 10:17 AMI fully agree with this idea, but unfortunately this has been discussed for a long time now but none (including IV CORE) seems to be interested in pursuing this further, although we all know that this has higher changes of approval. And I am sure even the folks with no MS from US will support if for simple reason that it will help them as well if backlog and crowed is reduced by whatever means. So I assume we all (US Degree Holder or otherwise) will support this -- still no actions..

I agree with this 100%, BUT we (US degree holdeers) have to understand that in the GC aspirant community there are tons of people who came in through "desi consultnats" (even this word makes my blood boil), who will never agree with this or support this. Classic Indian mentality, one crab pulling the other back in the basket.

CaveMan23204-24 11:18 PMFiled for renewal on 04/05 and still waiting for receipts. Current EAD expires last week of July and am running the risk of losing my job if I don't get it by then.

Does anyone know what are my chances of getting it before then? Also, what are my other options at this point or before I lose my job. I read about interim EAD's on other posts, is this still an option?

gc2826207-14 08:15 AMThere isn't much to be calculated for EB3. With spillover practically non-existent for EB3, we can easily calculate our wait times from pending inventory data published by USCIS.

The only positive development is that 245(i) cases that has been eating into EB3 quota is done with. So dates are no longer stuck at april 2001. We should see a slow but steady movement. Unless some spillover happens once EB2 has become current/close to current, I don't see much hope without legislation.

For those folks who think of not participating, consider these facts. Aman Kapoor and other IV core folks who already got their GCs are still working for our cause. There are lot of EB2 members among IV volunteers who work for this cause. We shouldn't just think of this as our personal issue. Rather we should consider this an issue for the entire EB community and work to resolve it.

svrk10-21 09:32 PMI filed my I-140 in July 07, I-485 in August with PD of June 07(EB3 India). Perhaps there may be many more like me with very recent PDs. Given that it is going to be a very long wait for getting GC, what should be a good approach for me? Use EAD after I-140 is approved (AC21 would be in place by that time) to make the most of the waiting time or play it extremely safe and stay with the current employer till GC is received? :confused:

Applied on : 6/4
Recd New Passport : 6/13

Last time i did not do Tatkal for my wife's passport and then we did not get it even after 2 months, we had to go to Houston personally and request those babus there, then they charged extra 90 anyway and sent passport in 3 days after that.

You will be amazed, they never pick phone or even if you go there personally, presumably it is too difficult for them to find your file.

MeraNaamJoker08-05 10:56 AMso i am curious why did you wait that long knowing that EB3 train is a goods train w/o engine. You r pretty close now to your GC, however if 3 yrs back or so you had ported it to EB2, you wud had been greened way back.

At that time, I was working for a multi billion dollar company where over a million people are employed. The HR department was not ready to serve any individual cases. Moreover the job prospectus were not great there at that time. It was always on the limbo. In fact, I did process another EB2 case in 2006. I got the I-140 Approval on that after the first one. And my employer's Immigration Department did not agree for a switch even after I pleaded to them. It was really hard luck. I spent over 18000.00 dollars to get that EB2 one which went down the drain. What to do? Its just fate.



drirshad05-04 05:59 PMI did an e-file of my EAD & AP on 14th April send the supporting docs that reached on 19th got second update as following on 04/20 no change since then anybody else had same experience.
